Yupper: Kinda like an ice cream cone. There’s all that good stuff piled up and your really get-en into it and OHHH Crap the cone is empty. Many many (BUT not all) of the company lease purchases are written as a way to string you along and keep you running you’re a$$ off for the company. By the time you pay off the truck its older than my uncle cleatus’s hound dog, and he aint got no teeth.

Never sign any contract without you let a lawyer look at it. I’ve seen some leases that would be considered slavery by any other terms.

My opinion on lease purchases is to do them with the guys that want to sell the trucks, not the guys that want to move the freight cheep.

There are lots of good dealers that can work with you and help you buy the truck as a straight purchase or lease purchase. Check out the Truck Sales page on our site and ask some of them guys.

Evy: The Bubba was living in Mons Belgium and Brussels for several years when I was doing my Army thing. Beautiful country, way too many beets. Gota be painfully honest with ya It aint the money for the license it’s the citizenship stuff. With all the new regulations and Fed requirements you would first have to get US citizenship before you get on with any of the companies. Your best option is to go to the Federal DOT site and question them folks. http://www.dot.ca.gov/

Failed Drug Test

question: How do i get back to driving truck after failing a drug test and have been clean for alittle over a year and have a certificate for completing a drug councilling but didnt have enough money to finish sap program?

CP: I gota be upfront with you. My favorite way. A little over a year doesn’t mean a great deal with most companies. I’m not even sure how much the SAP program really helps in todays climate with CSA 2010 and the crackdown by insurance companies. Like I tell others your best bet is finding a small fleet or 1 truck shop that will take a chance on you. Problem is that failed drug test is like an ugly woman. It will follow you for a long/long time. Almost every Trucken firm I know stop the process when they see FAILED DRUG TEST just the way it is CP.

question: bubba.. i`m finding a helluva time trying to get back on the road.. 3 preventable incidents ALL BACKING IN TRUCKSTOPS in 15mon.. went from OTR to LTL Regional with great refrences but can`t get my foot in the door nowhere.. fought them for UIB& won.. tried DAC FIX 7 all they could do was get MY VERSION of the events on my new HIRE RIGHT report.. stuck on 18 flats driving my family crazy bro… I can drive doe.. first time out 7 made some mistakes.. gimme some guidance/hope here boss..

Todd: You best stay out of those Truck Stops. The problem I see why most companies won’t touch you is the backing accidents. Just like fallen in an old well 90% of all damages happen when backin.(Non-Road) Your best bet is going to see if you can find a small company or an owner looking to maybe take a chance on you. You might even look for somebody you could team with to help you kinda sharpen your skills. Most everybody has to live and die by their insurance carrier and that’s where your getten kicked in the a$$ everytime. Your kinda like an accident waiten to happen to them insurance people. The only other way is to get a truck and trailer and carry your own insurance and look for companies that will hire you that way or with your own authority. It aint a cheap solution but might be the only way to get them tires back up and turning.

How long does a company have to report anything on a dac / is

there a certain amount of before a company cant report it

John: The short answer is there is no deadline for them to report. That being said if they waited a year anything they reported would be suspicious. DAC is going away as it is a voluntary reporting system and many companies do not report. Under the new 2010 crap everyone will be reporting and will only be a problem for us all, especially if we want to dispute the report.

Now if your hoping they forgot something remember when you apply to a company they will be doing a driver verification with that company and any problems may surface then.

Kinda like getten your girl pregnated. Can only hide it so long before it just jumps right out and bites ya.

question: Have less then two months over the road experience. Got into two preventables in one incident. Was terminated behindd this. So far when approaching companies it seems like i’m untouchable.

Out & Looking:

You may be looken in the wrong field.#1 Only 2 yrs of over the road experience. Your still considered a student for the most part. #2 “2″ preventables in the same accident?? Come on guy 1 preventable would have been way bad enough. I don’t know of any Company that would touch you. It sounds cruel but it is the truth. Maybe you can find a little 1 or 2 truck outfit that might take a chance, but I really don’t know of any. That doesn’t mean they aren’t out there ,I just don’t know where.

My very honest opinion is to look to get into another field for 4-7 yrs and then maybe try again.

Our Government has seen fit to take every little thing we do against us in these new DOT Regs.

Funny they hold us to a higher standard for our licenses than the cops that write us up.

Brian: I don’t know why you let your license expire. My uncle told me he let his marriage license expire and didn’t renew it. We’re gona miss him. I never saw a woman hit a running target that clean before.

But the good news is your area is ripe with driving jobs. The bad news is most companies want a min of 1yr current driving experience. I think you should talk to hiring companies and tell them your story. They might let you ride along for a period of time if you get it back and then see where it goes. Not a great solution. I know a CDL is expensive but if you can get it and keep it now it may pay back big time in the future.

Leonard: I really don’t know how to help you. You can’t remember the places you have worked? You could try Hire Right and see what they have on you. They will only have what info is reported to DAC so if any company you worked for did not report it will show a lapse in history. Other than that I really can’t help you much. Best bet is Hire Right.

There was this gypsy woman I knew, Miss Wanda that might help, Oh no her crystal ball rolled off table and broke her foot, she feel backwards and hit her head, seems like she would have seen that coming.

Damn Millard: How long you been driven? A refresher might just be what you need! Where they preventable accidents, or DOT reportable ones?

I offer that widow down the road that all the time. I tell her let me (re-fresh-her). All due respect guy but it is what it is. The accidents will stay on your DAC and will appear in any driver history requests made by a potential employer for 5-7 yrs min. You can look for a small outfit that might take a chance on ya, but 3 strikes is still and out in this business with most companies.

question: I have a class a cdl, I have not had schooling, my dad, a trucking veteran of over 45 years taught me how to drive, but I got a permiting DUI on a non cdl lisens and I have no verifiable experience. Where the heck can I find a job? Any leads will b greatly appreciated

Sorry for the delay, but Bubba was fillin his gut with food while camping in Maine with my grandbabys and kids: Well Berto I have no good news. You can try and find a small company that might hire you or drive as a team partner with another person that has a better record than yours. The DUI is a real killer. That and most all companies require a min of 1 yr continuous driving experience. You could look at a yard horse driver at a big DC if your backing up skills are real good. Sometimes they will over look the DWI if it was long ago. I’m sure your Dad taught you well and you need to keep your driving record clean as a whistle for awhile and maybe just maybe your chances will improve in a few years.
